The Lancasters, a development of 77 luxury apartments overlooking London's Hyde Park, is being constructed behind the listed facade of the former Lancaster Gate Thistle Hotel. The architectural design of the building was completed by renowned experts in residential property Nilsson Architects Ltd.
It's full circle for the buildings, originally built as 15 houses before their subsequent conversion to a hotel. The return to residential use will be completed during 2010, providing beautifully appointed homes with high ceilings and stunning park views.
Behind the historic exterior lie thoroughly modern interiors, complete with the latest underfloor heating systems. To ensure the fast track construction programme remains on target, 16,000 sq metres of FlexiDry F1 Floor Screed is being to ensure the mix dries quickly. The addition of FlexiDry F1 ensures the screed will be dry after 7 days, and allows general foot traffic after 12 hours, meaning following trades will not be delayed. A very important consideration with this type of refurbishment project.
FlexiDry fast drying floor screed will be installed initially in the show apartments in early February and then in the remaining apartments as the project rolls out.
When completed, the Lancasters will feature a Cote d'Azur style garden with underground spa leisure complex, and basement parking for residents.
