After a series of long waits and delays, work is well underway for the much awaited Stanley Park High School redevelopment project. Construction work is nearing completion, and the new school is scheduled to be open for admissions by January 2012.
Following a series of long delays owing to land acquisition issues, the Stanley Park School project is now progressing on a tight deadline. FlexiDry could provide the ideal solution for the floor screeding project, as our quick drying screed system ensured the installation of the final floor finish in as less as 7 days of screeding. FlexiDry F1 with a drying time of 7 days was used for over 1000 sq.m, and FlexiDry F3/21 days was used over another 2000 sq.m of flooring for the project.
FlexiDry could also offer a high degree of onsite flexibility as the contractors could achieve the required drying time by just altering the amount of FlexiDry liquid additive added to the screed mix. Also, being a screed system that generates minimal wastage, FlexiDry figured as the perfect screed choice for the project that is following high standards in sustainability and green construction.
The £38m project is expected to feature a world class design incorporating sustainable and innovative features, with the key priorities being a cleaner, greener and sustainable school environment. The new school will offer nearly 560 places every year, and will also have a specialist centre for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
The design for the school was developed consultatively with the students, staff and the community, and has received very high ratings from Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) for the sustainability standards. It is also the only new design that has been approved by the Commission for Architecture and Built Environment (CABE).
