Community blessed with new facilities

A new community centre in Wokingham is truly multi-purpose. The £4 million-plus project includes a children’s centre, library, sports hall, café, parish office and a local police base. It will also be a place of worship for Finchampstead Baptist Church.

Main contractor Mansell was keen to speed the construction project while ensuring durability, and with this in mind used FlexiDry fast drying floor screed in the F2 formulation to ensure the building's floor screed dried in 14 days after installation which fitted perfectly with their project timelines. Moisture and strength tests carried out on site in mid December confirmed FlexiDry’s outstanding performance.

With funding from a variety of sources, this long-awaited development will allow Finchampstead residents to benefit from significantly enhanced community facilities and services.

FlexiDry screeding additive was developed by a leading construction additive company and is a world standard product that is being adopted across the globe by an increasing number of contractors and screeding subcontractors.

The product can be added on site to the screed mix, according to the required improvement in speed of drying. FlexiDry increases the drying speed of the mix allowing construction to be completed more quickly, and following trades to move in sooner; additional benefits from FlexiDry include better performance of underfloor heating; reduced cracking; and a reduction in cement used in the mix.
